Born and bred in New York City, Zakkiyya (Zaza for short) is a lover of brunch, writing, music, and travel.

A proud mama of two toddlers, her connection to maternal health began organically while navigating her own pregnancy journeys as a Black Woman in the United States.

Zaza's unique birthing experiences (which are a different story for a different day!) and deep commitment to birth justice fuel her passion for leveraging storytelling to educate/advocate for reproductive rights and postpartum care.
